About Me
My name is Glenda King, I live in New Milton, Hampshire and am a fully qualified Nutritional therapist.
I was drawn into naturopathy and nutrition about 17 years ago, when my daughter suffered with very bad eczema as a baby. I did not want to treat her with steroid creams and found using natural remedies such as a few drops of camomile oil in a cream base very effective to relieve her itching. I then started to look for other natural ways to treat the coughs and colds that accompany the average childhood, and my interest in nutrition grew from there.
Initially it was Macrobiotics that I was drawn to; I’d suffered with hypertension for a number of years, and this promised a natural approach to reducing and controlling my high blood pressure. I was Macrobiotic for about 2 years, which did reduce my blood pressure, but wider reading on nutrition, plus the restrictions of the Macrobiotic diet, led me eventually to Nutritional Medicine.
I trained initially with Dr Lawrence Plaskett (the well known Naturopath and Biochemist) and then with Thames Valley University in London. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc) in Nutritional Medicine. I am a Nutritional Therapy Council registered Practitioner (NTC), a member of both the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and the Wholistic Nutritional Medicine Society (WNMS).
Continuing professional development is a key requirement of BANT, to ensure that I am always abreast of the latest research and development in Nutritional Medicine. To date I have completed many courses including Weight Loss, Balancing Female Hormones Naturally, Joint Health, Gut Disorders and Sports Nutrition.
In 2005 I completed the Iris Diagnostic course run by Dr Plaskett, gaining a Diploma in Iridology. Iridology is the study of the iris of the eye, which can show tissue imbalances in the body before they manifest themselves to the individual. This is an excellent diagnostic tool, which I use to complement my practice in Nutritional Medicine.
I have been using naturopathy and nutrition in the care of myself and my family for 17 years; this has gradually increased to include my wider family and friends, and now the clients in my New Forest Nutrition practice. Many have been amazed at the difference a change in diet and lifestyle can bring.

Testimonials - Comments from my clients
"Thanks for all your help over the last year with my hayfever, it is now better than it's been for years. After years of worsening symptoms, trips to the doctors and the hospital, I can't believe I am now free of most of the symptoms. I am enjoying life to the full now and really enjoying being able to go to garden shows like Hampton Court without having to worry." Jenny, Berkshire
"Thank you for all your help and advice on sorting out my bowel and digestive problems. The diet and supplements I am taking have really given me back my freedom to get out and about, without having the worry of thinking where the toilet is and will I get there in time. I feel so much better and have more energy . There is also the unexpected bonus of losing over a stone in weight without even trying. Life's Good." Elly, East Sussex
"I am a 64 year old male and have suffered for a number of years from High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol and Type 2 Diabetes. Following a very bad reaction from Statins I refused to take them, so I contacted Glenda and after consultations with her she advised me on supplements and diet. I am very pleased to say that my blood pressure is now normal, my Cholesterol, especially my LDL is reducing and I am no longer getting pressure from my Doctor to take Statins, in fact my Doctor is very pleased with me, we are still working on my sugar levels.
I find Glenda very knowledgable and professional and easy to talk to, I would highly recommend her". Peter, Widley, Hampshire.
